“Mrvice”, Banja Luka
A couple of years ago, at the initiative of a group of mothers, an association of parents of prematurely born children in the Republic of Srpska was founded in Banja Luka, and the association was named “Mrvice”. The goal of the association is to provide support and raise funds to help premature babies and their families. Most premature babies develop and grow normally, but some of them have developmental difficulties and health complications. One of such conditions is retinopathy (damage to the retina) due to which these weak babies have to travel to Belgrade for treatment in the first days of their lives.
In order to eliminate this problem and to prevent the babies from “Mrvica” Association from traveling to another country for treatment, EKI participated in the procurement of the necessary “retinoscope” instrument for diagnosing eye damage through the project “Socially Responsible Actions”. By purchasing this medical instrument, these young fighters were enabled to receive treatment in Banja Luka.
